Why would Sirius have to die? I can only think that perhaps it is because Harry needs to stand alone in the last fight. He has to feel that it is all or nothing and given really, no other choice.
I would love to know what that two-way mirror is going to be used for. Maybe the crew needs to go intot he forbidden forest and talk with each other? emember the mirror is now 'in pieces'. There is more than one or two. Could it be like walkie talkies or cell phones to muggles? hmm...
Got any ideas??
And about that bike, how wonderful would that be if Harry et crew traveled on it to the different places?

It's great to see that you started a Harry Potter blog. I've enjoyed your commentary over at About.com.
As for the mirror, wouldn't Hermoine fix it with a simple "reparo" spell (she's fixed Harry's glasses on numerous occasions).
I suspect the trio will find Sirius' half when they go to Grimmauld Place (they'll need it as a safe house after Harry turns 17) -- and then use it as a form of communications. I wouldn't be surprised if Hermoine decides to go back to school as Harry & Ron continue the Horcrux search. She would be their point person for researching spells, etc. they'll need.

I have a theory that may be far fetched but I hadn't read it anywhere and I wanted to see whether people thought it was possible or not.
I think it's fair to say that Crookshanks is a very unusual cat. Much like Scabbers was a very unusual rat. We now know that Scabbers was an animagus (Peter Pettigrew). So I think it's fair to say that Crookshanks might be an animagus as well. The woman in the magical creatures pet store said he'd been there "ages" and no one had taken him. Do any of you think Crookshanks might be Regulus Black (Sirius' brother)? I know RB is suppose to be dead but the books never mention his body being found and everyone thought PP was dead and really he had disguised himself as a rat for 13 years. No one knows how RB died. They all just say that he was "most likely" killed by another death eater and not the "dark lord".
If Crookshanks is RB disguised then he may be helpful to Harry in Deathly Hallows. If he's not RB I still think there's something important about him and I wouldn't be surprised if he is important in some way during the last book. I'd like to hear what others think about this theory and if you've heard or read about it before let me know so I could read more about it.
