He was given the ability to do so by Dumbledore, but only he and Harry know that now. Well, possibly Snape has an inkling, but he didn’t hear Dumbledore say it to Draco like Harry did. It all comes down to will Harry be able to forgive his enemies? Will he be able to put things aside? Will Draco?
If Draco does go over to the Order of the Phoenix, I will be hard pressed to believe in his goodness. While I feel sorry for Draco, he wasn’t given many options, he is really nasty to the core. And what’s more, he hates Harry. He has transferred everything that is wrong with his life – and there is a lot – to Harry Potter.
If Draco goes on in the plot and isn’t killed in the first chapter of book 7, I don’t think he will end up good. I just hope Hermione gets to have a bit of revenge.

Draco made his bed, now he has to sleep in it!
The Weasleys and the Malfoys are the Hatfields and McCoys of the wizarding world. The real fight is between them. Draco does not like Harry, duh! But read carefully, there is more enmity between the Malfoys and the Weasleys. Lucius and Arthur already had their fight, Hermione already got to punch Draco. The final battle with the Malfoys will be against the Weasleys. Ron will finally get his chance at Draco (and Ginny may get in a shot or bat bogey hex or two) and round 2 between Arthur and Lucius will come around. Harry's fight will be with Voldemort.
I don't see a "Malfoy-Weasley" showdown coming along. I personally think Voldemort will kill either Lucius or Draco, and Narcissa will go into hiding(perhaps aided by the Order).
